Overview

Preventive maintenance strategy is one of the main maintenance strategies employed and practised in most industries. The core objective of preventive maintenance is to prolong the lifetime of your asset and to keep it not only running but also healthy, effective, and ready to deliver its desired performance. We are even using preventive maintenance in our daily life when we check our car tyres or when we periodically replace the engine oil.

Developing and applying a preventive maintenance program is not an easy task, and it requires the commitment and discipline of all concerned parties in addition to the support and follow-up of the top management.

Applying a preventive maintenance strategy is accompanied by pros and cons, and preventive maintenance is not cost-effective unless adopted by other types of maintenance strategies.

Haitham Eldalil

Haitham Eldalil is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering, business management, and information technology. With over 20 years of experience, Haitham has held key positions at multinational companies, including Maintenance Manager at Holcim Indonesia and Methods Manager at Lafarge Cement Egypt. He is also a co-founder and CEO of SKYMAINT, a company focused on predictive maintenance and innovative solutions. Haitham has contributed to academia by teaching courses on maintenance management and planning. Additionally, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Management at the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
